Hello Fall

summer to fall leaves

We started our outdoor days with beautiful weather and enjoyed time at the creek, using imagination to play kitchen, make art and dig for treasures. Students also practiced what to do in case they become separated from the group, or if they see a loose dog, a bear or other wildlife.

The week ahead: September 25-29

  • Monday – at the school due to high wind forecast. We will likely be experiencing rainy, breezy conditions so please dress and pack accordingly. If the wind is considered dangerously strong, we will stay inside the school grounds away from tall trees and branches. If just a bit breezy, we will go for a walk to a community park.
  • Tuesday – at the park. The planned activities include a Storywalk and learning about the signs of the changing seasons.
  • Wednesday – at FLE
  • Thursday – at FLE. Library book exchange.
  • Friday – at FLE. Orange Shirt Day – students can wear orange if they can/would like to. We will have an assembly and then go out for a walk. I plan on reading a story appropriate for the age group about the reasons for wearing orange today. Our focus is how school should be a welcoming, safe place for all children because Every Child Matters!
  • Monday, Oct. 2 – No school. Truth and Reconciliation Day.
